CDC: Quarantine no longer necessary after COVID-19 exposure

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday said that it no longer recommends adults and children quarantine after being exposed to COVID-19.

The CDC also said that it was rolling back its “test-to-stay” policy which recommended children obtain a negative test in order to stay in the classroom after exposure.

People who are infected should end isolation on the sixth day or later if they had no symptoms or without fever for 24 hours and other symptoms have improved, the CDC said.

Infected people should wear a mask for 10 days after infection, or receive two negative antigen tests. They should also avoid interacting with people who are at high risk of severe symptoms.
