On Monday night, the Newton School Committee voted to make masks optional in Newton Public Schools starting on Tuesday.
The policy was recommended by Newton’s Medical Advisory board and voted affirmatively on by all School Committee members.
The only exception is that people returning from COVID-19 infection on days six through 10 and in the nursing and health offices will still be required to mask up.
