India crossed another grim milestone Monday with over 300,000 people lost due to COVID 19, while the huge surge of infections seemed to be decreasing in big cities but increasing in the poorer countryside.
The milestone, as recorded by India’s Health Ministry, comes as vaccine deliveries have slowed, marring the country’s fight against the pandemic, leading to many missing their shots.
India’s death tolls is the third-highest reported in the world, behind the US and Brazil, accounting for almost 9% of the nearly 3.47 milion fatalities worldwide, though the true numbers are thought to be significantly greater.
